Since middle school, I had always dreamed of one day owning a fast, high profile sports car. Originally, I had my sights set on a Dodge Viper with a roaring v10 and racing stripes! Shortly after high school I began my real estate career, and I set out to build an honest business and achieve those dreams. It was right around this time that a new model, the Audi R8 V10, caught my attention. You couldn’t miss it in Marvel’s Iron Man, and from that point on, I knew that this would be the car I would own one day.
A few years later, I test drove an A5 and loved it. It was my first experience with Audi. It was a great choice! I made the purchase and enjoyed the sharp handling and sleek looks of it for a while, but eventually needed to move on from the coupe. I traded it in for a Daytona grey SQ5 that I had special ordered – and waited for, and waited for, and finally, after 6 months it had finally arrived! I immediately took a road trip to Colorado to experience the thrills of a sporty mid-sized SUV. It was a blast. I’ve always been into modding my vehicles, and this one was no exception. I had APR install a tune along with the smaller supercharger pully and carbon fiber air intake. The power boost was phenomenal! I tested the ¼ mile time at Royal Purple raceway and ran a 12.7 best time. Not bad for an SUV! Over the years I’ve used the SQ5 for road trips, hauling materials for home improvement projects, showing homes to real estate clients, and more. I’ve always enjoyed the sportiness and quality that comes with the Audi brand. In my opinion, it doesn’t get better than Audi as far as beautiful interiors and quality of materials used in production. I’ve been hooked on the brand since my first A5!
Just recently this year, in early 2017, I had made some major strides with my real estate business with a new direction for lead generation and website. I finally had the resources to obtain my dream car – the newly redesigned 2017 R8 V10! It still feels unreal when I walk out to the garage, jump into the leather diamond stitched seats and fire up that ferocious, high revving V10 engine! It’s decked out with carbon fiber everywhere, the interior, engine bay, and side blades…and let me tell you, it looks sharp! It’s everything I always imagined owning a supercar would be. The handling is outstanding, the engine pulls to the moon; the car flat out pins you to the seat in every gear! Yes, this is what dream cars should be. I am thankful that I’ve been able to own such a special vehicle at this point in my life. I’ve since joined Audi Club Lone Star and a few local Audi clubs in town.
The car meets and events have been a blast and I’ve met some great people that share the same passion about the Audi brand as me. I think it’s a great way to get involved locally to meet new friends, help the community, and take your car out to experience the legendary quattro performance that goes hand in hand with Audi! I’m looking forward to many more years of car meets, fun runs, and track days! I’m glad I have had a chance to be a part of the Audi family for so many years.
